“What I like about the Mule Tote is that it’s a really fun project to sew for new or experienced sewists. This project could be done slowly over a Sunday or managed in tiny chunks in the gaps of life.
However long it takes, the intention for the maker is to have an enjoyable time sewing this tote using the construction method provided. And as a bonus, the bag finishes so nicely, which makes it the perfect gift!
My advice, start with the Maxi. It requires 1m of fabric so I’m sure you’ve got something in your stash for this project already! Once you’ve sewn one, the next will be easier and you’ll be able to enjoy the process all over again. I always find myself admiring the neat seams when the project is finished, it is what makes this a very special tote bag in a world full of many tote bags!”

"The Mule Tote is my new favourite. The flat felled seams make the finish so tidy and a new skill unlocked. Easy to follow pattern and it can be modified to many ways. I have added two long thin ties to the inside of the top fold, along the sides, to keep my goods tucked inside. The standard size is a great bag for work and shopping for lunch boxes etc. Folds up nicely too".
